The short answer

Global Relay is a broad archive covering email, mobile, voice and its own messaging app;[1][4] it does not publish prices on the pages we checked.[1][8] Turret archives email and your website for firms of 2 to 20, publishes its price, and reviews outbound mail only. It does not capture texts, voice or messaging apps. Which fits depends on whether you need those other channels.

Turret shows the pattern matched, the AI's confidence and its reasoning on each alert, one alert per message.

What this means for your firm

  • Ask Global Relay for its price per account, setup fee, minimum accounts, initial contract term and export terms; none was on the pages we checked.
  • Turret builds its archive from your mailboxes, not from Global Relay; mail Global Relay already holds stays there, so decide whether to export it.
  • If you also need Marketing Rule review, Turret's Marketing product is software for the people who submit pieces: submission, AI pre-screen and approval, no email connection needed.

What each publishes about price

Global Relay does not publish a price on its own archive or finance pages. Both direct the reader to get in touch.[1][8]

SelectHub, a third-party listing and not Global Relay, labels the pricing "Custom Quote". It also states a starting range without a unit and lists billing as “Monthly, Quote-Based”. The listing does not say what the range covers, so this page prints no figure from it.[11]

Ask Global Relay what applies to a firm of your size: the price per account, any setup fee, a minimum number of accounts, the contract term, and what an export involves if you leave. Global Relay may answer all of these. We have not found the price, a setup fee, a minimum number of accounts or what an export involves on the pages we checked. For the contract term, its Master terms of service say Order Forms are "automatically renewed for additional two-year terms".[14]

Turret's price is on its pricing page.

Choose Global Relay if

  • You capture texts, WhatsApp, voice or social today. If your supervision procedures say staff use those channels with clients, you need a vendor that captures them. Global Relay lists mobile and voice capture,[1] and describes an integration with the WhatsApp Business API to capture and archive business communications.[13] Turret does not capture any of these, or any messaging or chat apps; it captures email and your website.
  • You want a messaging app that comes with the vendor. Global Relay says its app gives teams secure messaging and calling across text, voice and instant messaging channels, including WhatsApp.[4]
  • Someone requires an independent security audit report or ISO 27001 on paper now. A custodian, institutional client or due-diligence questionnaire may ask. Global Relay lists both,[2] with no audit dates on the page, so ask for the report itself.
  • You expect to outgrow 20 people, or you have a broker-dealer affiliate. Global Relay names Rule 17a-4 and FINRA Rules 2010 and 4511, and describes working with "some of the world's largest banks".[8][10] Turret is built for firms of 2 to 20 and makes no 17a-4 claim. On size, Global Relay's switching page answers "Do you have solutions for SMBs and enterprises?" with "Absolutely, our solutions can scale from tens of users to tens of thousands of users."[9]
  • You want a vendor to run a large migration. Global Relay says dedicated onboarding teams specialize in migrations from any legacy system.[9]
  • Analyst recognition matters to your committee. Global Relay reports that Gartner named it a Leader in its 2025 Magic Quadrant for Digital Communications Governance and Archiving Solutions.[12]

If two or more of these describe your firm, Global Relay is the better-matched vendor, and a quote is the right next step.

Choose Turret if

  • Email and your website are the real exposure. If your written client communication runs through Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, and your website is the other record, Turret covers those two.
  • You want a published price and a trial before a conversation. The 15-day trial needs no call, and every price is on the pricing page.
  • You have 2 to 20 people and want to pay per monitored mailbox. The count is the mailboxes Turret monitors, not the people who log in.
  • You want outbound review that explains itself. Each alert shows the pattern matched, the AI's confidence and its reasoning. There is one alert per message, and quoted history is not matched again. Auto-clearing is opt-in, and a human sample is always kept.
  • You want records you can check. Each archived message carries a SHA-256 hash, and alert and archive actions are recorded in append-only audit tables. Retention is a policy: 7 years, while you subscribe.
  • You also need Marketing Rule review. Marketing is a separate product for the people who submit marketing pieces. It covers submission, AI pre-screen and approval, and needs no email connection. It is $99/mo on its own, or part of Complete at $178/mo.

Turret captures email and your firm's website, not texts, WhatsApp, voice, social, Teams or Slack. It reviews outbound mail only. Attachments are archived with their name, type and size, but the text inside them is not scanned. Patterns are not customer-editable. If one of these is a requirement, choose Global Relay.

What switching involves

Coming to Turret. Turret builds its archive by reading your mailboxes through the Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 connection you authorize in setup. The setup flow connects your mailboxes and takes payment. None of its steps imports another vendor's archive, and Turret offers no migration service. The free trial archives a recent window of mail, and your full retention window (7 years, while you subscribe) starts after your first payment, which is at setup if you skip the trial. How far back the archive reaches depends on what is in your mailboxes. Mail your current vendor already holds stays with that vendor, so decide whether to keep it there, export it, and for how long.

Leaving Turret. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. After your access ends, Turret keeps your archive for 60 days, and you can request a full export in that time by emailing us. Exports are run by Turret staff, not self-serve. After the 60 days the archive is deleted by a person at Turret, not by a timer.

Leaving Global Relay. Its switching page says migration time depends on the number of users and supported channels.[9] It states no fee or timeline. Ask what an export of your archive involves before you sign.

Where Turret fits

Turret is for a small adviser whose supervised channels are email and a website. It archives sent and received mail from Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, and your public website, and reviews outbound mail against 14 patterns on by default. Details are on email compliance, website archiving and pricing. Whether Turret satisfies your recordkeeping and supervision duties is a judgment for your CCO and counsel. The security page covers how access and stored credentials are handled.
